Opportunities now include Key Roles 👥

December 7, 2022

Incidents often involve a number of different people. Ever wonder who’s doing what during your incident? Now you’re now able to see who played what significant roles in your opportunity! Highlighting key roles allows you to see at a glance who played a significant part in either the logistics of an incident or the investigation.

Check out our documentation to learn how Jeli assigns key roles automatically, and how you can add more key roles to your opportunities!

Renaming your incident channels just got easier! ✏️

December 2, 2022

Starting today, using /jeli rename will give you the option to rename the Jeli incident and channel name. This could be useful for folks if they’d like to rename the channel to match a ticket key from another system. Rename your channels until your heart’s content.

Bring more people into your incident response 📟

December 2, 2022

We’re turning to a new page with our Incident Response bot. You can now use Jeli to page people into an incident! Introducing /jeli page.

image

We know a big part of response is getting the right people in the room to work on the problem together. /jeli page links to your PagerDuty account, and allows you to page different Services in PagerDuty as well as the specific person. You also have the option to page additional people as well, like Leadership, Communications, Support – you name it, you can page it!

November 28, 2022

Today we’ve released our beta for Jeli’s new insights feature – Learning Center. As part of this beta we’re introducing two main features: (1) The Learning Center and (2) new views for people data.

The Learning Center helps answer fundamental questions about your Jeli opportunities and how your teams respond to them. With the Learning Center you can:

  • Adjust the time frame see information about recent developments as well as long term trends, and
  • Filter data by service and technology to tailor insights to the things that matter most in your organization.

Enhanced visualizations on your people data: Along with the Learning Center, we’re introducing some new views for people data that answer questions about response trends and opportunity participation.

Check out our docs to learn more, and get more insights out of your opportunities!

Narrative builder enhancements ✨

November 18, 2022

Building your narrative in Jeli just got easier with our new drag and drop functionality. From the Builder, you can now drag and drop events directly onto the marker in narrative builder. It sounds easy, because it is. Give this a try next time you build your narrative! Happy Investigating!

New integration: Jira!

November 2, 2022

Introducing our Jira integration! Do your incident reviews generate action items? Do you create these action items in Jira? Would you like to create and track all these action items right from your opportunity in Jeli? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you’re going to enjoy our Jira integration. Our Jira integration allows you to create new Jira issues and link existing Jira issues right from the Action Items section in your opportunity. 💅

October 26, 2022

Today we're introducing Opportunity Tags – a feature that allows you to look at opportunities in Jeli that relate to one another based on the technologies and services used at your organization. Starting today, when you take a look at an opportunity, the Report Overview page will suggest Related Opportunities based on the services and technologies those incidents have in common.

We're really excited about this feature – it's one of the many steps we're taking to help surface more insights from your incident data in Jeli! Check out our documentation for more details and to get started.

New Incident Response Bot Features 🤖

September 26, 2022

We are excited to be releasing several new features to our IR Bot today:

  • More configurations: customize your status reminder frequency, default broadcast channels, and the prompts sent your your assigned incident commander and comms lead in /jeli settings.
  • Introducing Stages: set an incident as Investigating, Identified, or Mitigated to communicate where you are in your response when you create an incident, and throughout with /jeli stage.
  • Broadcast channel updates: you can add or remove channels for us to broadcast incident updates when opening an incident, and changing the stage or severity, whatever makes the most sense for your process.
  • Easier updating: you can now create a status update for an incident from an existing Slack message by reacting to it with 📣 :mega: , 📌 :pushpin:, or 📫 :mailbox:. Or you can use our “Set Incident Status” message shortcut to even make messages sent in other channels a status update for your incident.
  • Remind yourself of tasks once an incident is mitigated: use /jeli remind to create follow ups to address after response, and schedule them to ping you again later.
  • See all active incidents: use /jeli active to help you find related incidents, or find if someone’s already started response for an issue.

Check out our Incident Response Bot Documentation for even more details!

September 6, 2022

We’ve added a universal timezone selector that is now visible at the top right of every screen in Jeli. This will allow you to switch between timezones as you search, investigate, and present your opportunities in Jeli! It will default to your local timezone.

Narrative Builder: Marker Note Indicator

August 6, 2022

We’ve added an indicator to Markers in Narrative Builder (circled in red below) that have a note attached to them, to help indicate at a glance during a review where you might have questions or additional context you prepared.

July 2022

Timezone Selector for Report Export

July 6, 2022

You can now select the timezone you want your Report exported in!

image

When exporting a report, in the top right corner near your name you will see your current timezone. Clicking on that timezone will open a selector to search a city or a specific GMT offset and apply that timezone to the report. It will change the times listed on the timeline, and update the times on each marker in the narrative section of the report.

Organization & Integrations Settings Pages

July 6, 2022

You can now integrate with Slack, PagerDuty, and import your HR Data through Jeli.

image

In the top right corner of any screen in Jeli, you will see three dots: clicking reveals a drop down with a Settings option. Settings has two pages: Organization and Integrations.

Organization will display the domain of your organization determined by your authenticated Google workspace account used to create your Jeli account. Integrations allows you to connect Jeli to your Slack workspace, your PagerDuty instance, and upload your HR Data. Check out documentation on how to set up those integrations here.

June 2022

Export Report, Takeaways, and Action Items

June 14, 2022

You can now export your incident analysis from Narrative Builder into a report! Slack it, email it, embed a link to it, heck you can even print it out! Share your findings however you like!

image

In the Report section in Jeli you will now see two new tabs: Takeaways & Action Items. Record the themes you surfaced through your investigation and learning meetings in Takeaways. And Action Items is the place to document the work that still needs to be done, whether those items are links to remediation tickets, or invites to conversations for blueprinting improvements. (Both of these tabs, as well as the report Overview support markdown!)

From the Narrative Builder view in Jeli, you will now see an option to Export Report. By default this will include your executive summary, timeline, and narrative markers, any evidence attached to the opportunity, as well as anything added in the new takeaways and action items tabs. You can select and deselect which of these items you would like to include in the export before you save it as a PDF. Note: once exported as a PDF any attached links will be visible and clickable.

Timeline Durations

June 7, 2022

Narrative Builder’s timeline just got smarter! Introducing durations to your narrative markers: you can set a beginning and end time for each marker to show the amount of time spent on each effort.

image

Marker durations will show up on your Timeline as a line spanning the time that effort was taking place, instead of just a dot indicating a single moment in time. Showing the time it takes us to complete tasks, share context, and deliberate our options within incident response gives us visual cues of how long things take. The “time it takes to do x” is a quick indicator of where we can gain insight into how our systems and people work together within an incident, and find opportunities to improve for the future.
